Great Black and White Photographers part 3

Image
1)  The first things that had caught my eye while looking at my photographers photos is the emotions that he captures in the photos. The actions displayed by the subjects in the photo show a lot of emotions and thoughts in one photo. 2)In one of William's photos I can see the lighter in her hand that she is holding. I can smell the cigarette that she is smoking. I can hear the burning of the cigarette. I can taste the moisture in the air around us. I can feel the burning of the cigarette on my fingers. In the other photo I can see the trees behind the two people riding the moped. I can smell the burning of gas in the air. I can hear the sound of the moped running. I can taste the burning rubber from the tires. I can feel the grips of the car trying to hold myself in a steady position. 3) I would like to create power points to show how great William Klein is. I would like to put his photos on a slide show so I would be able to describe every one of his photos and write down to

Abandoned Theme Parks

Image
GULLIVER’S KINGDOM, JAPAN I would like to visit this Amusement park and take some shots here because of the insanely creepy scenery. I also wish to go here because of reading the backstory of the park and the strange odd things that have happened there. I think I would be most afraid of the Suicide Forest thought because I feel like it has a reason to why it is called that and that people go crazy in the forest and end up killing themselves. In the photo of the Park is a giant statue and I feel like that would be an excellent thing to take a shot of.  1. The 107-Year-Old Floating Forest - SS Ayrfield in Homebush Bay, Sydney Australia  2. Abandoned Soviet Submarine Base - Pacific Submarine Fleet Nuclear Shelter, Pavlovsk, Russia 3. Kiev Subway Tunnel - Kiev, Ukraine 4. Germany Military Hospital - Beelitz, Germany 5. Sorrento Abandoned Mill - Sorrento, Italy I would like to take photos at this location because I want to know how the trees had begun to grow on the boat

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

Image
1. Photo manipulation is ethical to a certain extent. Journalism companies and newspapers often manipulate photos to bring in more money. As long as what the photo is trying to portray doesn't change than the photo is ethically okay. 2. There is a certain limit to photo manipulation. Although they do manipulate photos in certain circumstances. If the camera is not capturing the correct things like the tone or sound then it will alter the photo completely in a different way to the make it a completely different photo that will not give off that well of a contrast. 3. I think it is okay to crop, change contrast, brightness and red eye. All of these things will not have a major effect on the photo but can slightly improve the photo over all. You should not alter the photo as much if you are planning on using the photo for other things other than yourself so you could keep the realism of it. 4. This photo is unethical because the original photo is jus

William Klein  William was born and raised in New York as a young Jewish Boy. He used art at a young age to drive his attention away from others. He studied at the City College of New York. He had also enlisted in the Army. In 1948 he had left to travel to France where we would be able to study painting and then enrolled at the Sorbonne. He married Jeanne Florin and then moved back to New York in 1950s to begin as a photographer. Klein had shot many fashion shows for Vogue, a popular magazine back then. Klein had taken many shots of NewYork and no one would publish them so he had turned them into a book. He had made a film in the 1980s with his many photographs he had taken creating Broadway By Light, Who Are You Polly Maggoo? He had left film work to go back to Photography and continued to work with many others with his photography skills. He now lives in Paris, France, where he is able to work.   554 × 750

I like this picture because the only thing I like in my science classes are labs. This photo shows balance because it is the same on each sides of the photo. I like this picture because you can see the shadows of the people and the fire in the background. This photo displays silhouette because the fire in the background is the source of light and the people appear as shadows. I think I could take some photos like I chose here in a science room in classes. I would like to visit Mrs. Hadley's room to take photos in. I will get a close up of someone in the classroom doing a lab trying to get the perfect amount of water in their beaker.

Filling the Frame

Image
This frame is filled with excitement in the crowd. Everyone in the stands are excited for the game that is about to start in the photo. Everyone is having a good time and showing their school spirit. This is the most interesting because there are not many schools where the students support there teams with this much excitement.

Action and Emotion

Image
The action in this photo is the baseball player focused on hitting the ball. There are many emotions in this photo. For example the girl in the back on the right is curious of what is going to happen next. The batter could feel scared and confident at the same time, baseball players have many emotions in a single moment. The catcher will be upset because he can also see that the batter is about to hit a walk off home run.

The Story

Image
When I see this photo it shows me a story of how he had graduated. His whole 4 years of high school through the hardships and the good times. He looks proud of himself for being able to graduate. He is going to start his new story moving out of high school.

Peer Reflection

https://devinphotojournalismblog.blogspot.com/ This was Devin's blog and some things that I liked about his photos was that his happy photo is really happy because the person smiling in the photos makes the photo feel goofy and fun. I also really liked his Bowie picture because it is showing was is currently happening at Bowie and this is a big thing because only the current freshmen and below will get the perks of the parking garage that is getting built and his framing of Bowie is great. One thing he could work on is to not have people in his photos if he is trying to get the main focus of the metal. https://ethancphotojournalismblog.blogspot.com/2019/09/prompt-shoot.html This was Ethan's Blog and some things I liked about his photos was that his Bowie picture is about the lanyards that were given to us so we can wear our IDs but I see the IDs as a waste of money and time and do not change anything. I also liked how symmetrical his square photo was. One thing he could

Post Shoot Reflection

1) The challenges I encountered while taking these photos with trying to follow with the prompts were that I had to think about using composition more to take the photos to make the photos look nicer. 2)The technical aspects I find myself thinking about the most is to try to get the right angle of things to try and make them pop out more. Like in some of my photos that I did not use of the school floor for squares was that I tried to take them level with the floor to make it look cooler but I did not think about how it wouldn't really show the squares. 3)If I could do the assignment over again I was take more exciting photos that would have a clear view of composition. 4)Something I would do the same is use framing like using a doorway and pillars to show framing. 5) I am not interested in shooting the same prompts because I want to be able to shoot a lot of other things for my prompts.

Prompt Shoot

Image
Happy This photo shows the prompt happy because The person in the photo is smiling at the camera indicating that he is currently happy. The composition it shows is simplicity because behind him is a plain environment. Bowie This photo shows the prompt of Bowie because this is the map of Bowie because a lot of students and parents can get lost. The composition is framing because the main focus is on the map with a frame of fingers. Metal This photo shows the prompt of Metal because the grate of Bowie is made of metal. The composition is simplicity because the area around the main subject is plain. Square This photo shows square because the floors of the Fine Arts Hall are square tiles. The composition of this photo is lines because all of the lines in this photo creates all of the squares.

Avoiding Merging

Image
This is avoiding merging because nothing in this photo merges and it just shows the amount of despair this woman is in.

Balance

Image
This shows balance because of the bridges are lined up together and the buildings are also lined up together.

Framing

Image
This shows framing because the two buildings on the left and the right are in shadows and darkness showing off the firefighter looking at the building destroyed due to a fire.

Lines

Image
This represents line because in the background of the picture is a building with a line design destroyed.

Rule of Thirds

Image
This is rule of thirds because the guy is in the bottom right of the photo and positioned correctly to wear we can see what he is looking at.

Simplicity

Image
This is simplicity because it focuses on the man falling and the background is very plain so all the attention is to the man.
